Woodsom Farm Festival Scarecrow Contest

Create a seasonal sensation for the Woodsom Farm Festival scarecrow contest. The contest is open to the public and entries by individuals, teams and businesses are encouraged.

Contest Rules

  1. The scarecrow must be prepared to sit or stand on its own props within a 4-foot square area. No props will be provided. Stakes may be driven, however grounds must be left as before scarecrows arrived.
  2. Rubber, plastic or store bought masks are not allowed.
  3. Scarecrow construction must include straw or hay.
  4. All scarecrows must be named. Write the scarecrow name on an 8.5"x11" piece of cardboard.
  5. Set-up will take place between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on the day of the festival. Upon arrival, check in near the entrance with the setup coordinator. Please unload your scarecrow as quickly as possible and then move your vehicles to the parking lot before setting up your scarecrow. (The setup coordinator will inform you the day of the event what time the judging will take place)
  6. Prizes and ribbons will be awarded immediately following the judging. You don't need to be present to win.
  7. You must breakdown and remove your scarecrow between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on the day of the festival.
  8. When designing your scarecrow, please keep in mind that this is a family event. Please no political, religious or excessively violent scarecrows. The Festival Staff reserves the right not to accept any scarecrow that is deemed to be unacceptable.
