![]() Special thanks to Peter Hoyt, our Master of Ceremonies for the day. THANK YOU! |
THERE IS NO DATE SET FOR NEXT YEAR'S FESTIVAL AS A NEW COMMITTEE IS NEEDED TO PLAN AND RUN THE EVENT.
THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL YEAR Saturday was a day that finally felt like fall, perfect weather for the 18th annual Woodsom Farm Festival. The day started off before the sunrise with the Rotary Club setting up their tents for the children’s games and pumpkin carving. Our “First Lady” of Amesbury officially opened the festival, Claire Kezar. She did a wonderful job. Ashley Corby, a senior at The Presentation of Mary High School in Methuen, sang an amazing rendition of the National Anthem. Peter Hoyt was our master of ceremonies for the 18th time and we thank him very much. The festival continues
every year because of the local businesses that support it. Special
thanks to our biggest sponsor, The Provident Bank, who year after year
participate to make our festival great. This year the Provident
sponsored our entertainment for the day, which included the Gray Sky
Girls who were fantastic. The Rap N Tap dancers were also on hand this
year to give us some “Thriller” dancing. Thank you to Officer
Nichols and his dog Kaybar for an awesome Police K-9 Demonstration.
Amesbury Minor League sponsored our Petting Zoo, which actually sported
hay bales with saddles on them for the little ones, not that it makes
up for the loss of our pony rides and hay rides this year but the
children enjoyed them. Thank you to Stone Ridge Properties who once
again supported our festival. They sponsored the Moon Bounce. Thank you
also to Restorations By Lord Roberts and The Newburyport Five Cent
Savings Bank for their generous sponsorships. Special thanks to E.F.
Shea for the use of the concrete steps at the stage and to D-Rock for
the use of the flatbed truck for our stage. Without the continued
support of local businesses, the festival could not happen. Some additional thanks need to be extended for the hard working volunteers that came out to lend a hand during the day. Alexa and Katie Mellon, Evan & Adam Woodsom, Ameila Smolinsky, Kaitlin MacKinnon, Jennifer Meyer, Matt Knight, Tony Ultrino, Kyle Roy, Amanda Schell, Kaci & Kylee Kus were among the students that volunteered. Thanks also to Harry Lucier, George Woodsom, and Kathy Smith who took turns hanging out at our Information Tent and Kim DesRosiers for manning the Moon Bounce. Thank you to Sue and Ashley Woodsom and my husband, Bob Woodsom. Finally, the biggest thank you goes to my sister in law, Patty Mellon, who has been by my side for the last 4 years even though she really didn’t want to J This is my fourth year organizing the festival. At this point in time I believe that it's time to pass that torch on to another group of people that are excited and have fresh ideas. Please let myself or the Mayor know if you are interested in taking it over or want further information.
SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR BIGGEST SPONSOR - THE PROVIDENT BANK
